The Rockaholics

Bob Feather - Guitar, vocals.

“Music is one of those cool things that lets you express your thoughts in a different language. When the people listening get the message, well, that’s just the best feeling in the world.”

Bob is from Trumbull Connecticut where he gigs the local circuit in Fairfield, Westchester and Orange counties playing in several classic rock and blues bands. Over the past 30 years Bob has studied with Al Ferrante, Paul Gabriel and Tom Pitel. By day, Bob is the Staff Photographer for American Iron and RoadBike Magazines. By night you’ll find him in any number of local bars being a Rockaholic, hosting an open mic, or just sitting in with some of his buddies.

Bill says: “Bob is one of those people like me, who lives to play!! His lightning fast leads and solid rhythms are what make this band rock. Many of the songs we play have been taken to a whole new level by his inspired guitar playing. Bob’s enthusiasm for playing and getting things done, have pushed this band a long way in a very short period of time!”

Bill Morton - Bass, Vocals

“I wanted to play with the best musicians I could find when I moved here and I wasn’t going to settle. I wanted to feel challenged by players who were better than me! I feel very fortunate to have teamed up with exactly the right players.”

Bill is originally from Waterbury, Connecticut. Bill started his music career as a guitar player and then switched to bass in 1988 when it became apparent that there just weren’t enough bass players in the area. “I knew from the first time I picked up the bass that it was the right instrument for me.” Within months of making the switch, the 4 piece band “Last Call” was formed. This band later evolved into the popular Waterbury area band “Whiplash.” When Bill moved to Monroe in 2004, he was anxious to seek out some new local talent. A chance meeting at an audition put Bob Feather and Bill Morton together for the first time. Bob knew a drummer, (Tom Nichio), and on
the first downbeat, The Rockaholics were born!

"Bill throws down the 5 string bass bottom with an enthusiasm seldom seen on the local circuit. His expert chops and faithful reproduction of the groove, as heard on the original recording, is the glue that binds this band and keeps the sound authentic. His powerful vocal skills and prowess on the bass make him an irreplacable asset to this group."

Tom Nichio - Drums, Vocals

"I've always enjoyed playing music because each style presents it's own challenges. The Rockaholics are true to my heart because rock has always been my first love. This band kicks ass and is right where you want it to be... in your face, song after song"

Tom hails from Shelton CT, Rockaholics Headquarters. A self taught player, his early influences were bands like The Allman Bros, Deep Purple, and Grand Funk. His fate was sealed in 7th grade when he saw the crowd react to his band during a local school talent show. "They made us feel like rock stars!" At that moment, he knew this was what he wanted to do. Tom attended Housatonic Community College where he majored in music under famed jazz drummer Nick Forte. During that time he mixed with many jazz and fusion players. Over the years, Tom's open minded approach to drums has seen him play in top bands throughout Southern Connecticut covering a wide variety of musical styles.

Bob about Tom: "Tom, our drummer and my good friend over the past 20 years brings a strong focus and clockwork rythmn to the group. He's always the first one to find the humor in a situation and on the other hand doesn't let any of us slack off on the groove. Tom is the heartbeat of this band."

Bernie Gagliardi - Keyboards, Guitar, Vocals

"A band, is a musical and personal relationship. And like any good relationship, it's based on good chemistry. Getting together with Bob, Bill and Tom, I knew the chemistry was there right from the start."

Bernie is a lifelong resident of Northford Connecticut. After honing his chops at the University of New Haven, where he majored in music, Bernie and his blazing keyboard were off to travel New England and the mid-Atlantic States touring with a full production show band playing covers of all the great 70's rock super groups! During this time on the road he also emerged as a formidable guitar slinger.

In the years that followed, Bernie played throughout the region covering every genre from rock to disco, dance to wedding/top 40, and even as a solo performer. Many people know Bernie from the popular New Haven based band "Majesty". With such a wide range of music and experience, Bernie can cover it all yet professes, “with the Rockaholics, I’m playing the music I enjoy the most,......hard-driving, classic rock and roll!”

“Bernie is the man that completed this band. His extensive vocal range and awesome keyboard talents add rich textures and style to the group. Whenever we need that little something extra to fill out a song, Bernie just reaches into his bag of tricks and makes it happen. And when he’s not tickling the ivories, he picks up his guitar and bangs out a rockin’ groove. Bernie is three players in one!”
